Public handgun classes are being offered to Douglas County residents by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Training Division Firearms Instructors. The classes are held in the Training Facility, located on the second floor of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center. Classes are held one evening of each month, from 6:00pm until approximately 9:00pm.
Until our new range is open, the clinic will consist of lecture only, covering basic handgun operation, terminology and state laws regarding handguns.

You bring your own handgun to class. PLEASE BRING YOUR WEAPON INTO THE BUILDING UNLOADED!
You must be at least 18 years of age and give consent (signature must be witnessed) for a background check as part of the application process.

You will be notified of your class date approximately 2 weeks in advance, the time for all classes is 6:00pm – 9:00pm. You may bring your own ammunition, or you may purchase ammunition here for use in the class.
