Jail Division
It is the purpose of this division to house inmates in accordance with state law while maintaining a safe environment for both inmates and staff. We currently house an average daily population of 750+ inmates with 50 inmates housed in Irwin County. This inmate population is comprised of pre-trial inmates as well as both county and state sentenced inmates. There are currently 84 deputies and certified corrections officers working in the jail division.
Of these 750+ inmates, we currently have 113 inmates assigned to the Trustee Program. We have 11 females and 102 males on various work crews that work throughout this county. We also use this inmate labor inside our kitchen and laundry as well as utilizing them for janitorial duties throughout the jail facility.
