Transport Division

The Transport Division is responsible for the safe and secure transportation of inmates to and from the Douglas County detention facility. Typical destinations include medical facilities and other detention and correctional facilities throughout the county, state, and country. In 2008, 3,894 inmates were transported and traveled 222,588 miles. The fleet for the Transport Section involves a number of vehicles, specialized for the transport of inmates. At their disposal are vans and cage buses. Occupancy in a vehicle varies from one to 40.
